Or Avner-Green Kindergarten and School   is part of a network of schools operated abroad and supervised by the Israeli Ministry of Education.

There is a lot of meaning behind the name of our school: Or Avner-Green.Or means light,  light is our core belief. Avner is the name of Mr. Lev Leviev’s father. We are very thankful and grateful to him for founding our school. Green is the name of the family that has helped us all throughout the past few years. We thank them deeply and we express our gratitude for their consistent support.

Unique among Bucharest schools, Or Avner Green Kindergarten and School provides the Israeli National Curriculum here in Romania with the help of our teachers who are first- language Hebrew speakers with experience of teaching the Israeli Curriculum. Our school’s mission is to maintain and strengthen our children’s connection to Israel, by developing their Hebrew language skills, by enriching their knowledge of the Israeli culture and by widening their understanding of the Israeli and Jewish traditions.

English is taught in Or Avner-Green Kindergarten and School from a very early age. 40% of our educational programme is in English. Children learn English through play. Our curriculum is based on best UK and US practice. Our holistic approach of a child provides learning experience in 5 main areas of development:

The English classroom is divided up into areas of experience  such as Malleable Area, Table Top, Junk-Modelling, Role-play, Science where children acquire not only language skills but also age -appropriate fine or gross motor skills, thinking skills, creativity, independence or social skills. The efficiency of our system is mainly due to the weekly planning done by our qualified teachers. Behind every activity, every story told, every game, song or  fingerplay, there are clear objectives, proper planning and evaluation so that each child individual needs are met in the educational process.
